A big thank you to the Savonia Library’s customers who answered the National Customer Survey of Libraries
The survey was carried out this spring between the 6th of April and the 12th of May.
In total, 413 of Savonia Library’s users answered the survey.
Answers were divided among Savonia Library’s units in the following manner: Iisalmi Campus library 14,5 %, Microkatu Campus library 61,3 %, School of Music and Dance library 0,7 %, Opistotie self-service library 19,4 %, and Varkaus Campus library 4,1 %.
From those who answered the survey, 85,5 % were Savonia’s students and 12,1 % were staff. Among the students who answered the survey, 62,1 % were first and second year students and 35 % were third and fourth year students.
The lot was drawn and the winner of the iPad has been notified.
The statements in the survey were evaluated on a scale of 1 – 5 (highest).
According to the survey, Savonia Library’s main areas for development are:
Developing group study rooms and individual study spaces (3.45 and 3.68)
Library video guides (3.50)
Library chat (3.52)
We will collaborate with Savonia’s facilities management in order to develop premises which will suit better students’ needs. Those needs are also taken into consideration in the planning for the new Savilahti Campus.
We will make video guides about Savonia-Finna and develop our chat service.
According to the survey, Savonia Library succeeded best in:
Borrowing, returning and renewing loans, reservations (4.64)
Expertise and service attitude of the staff (4.59 and 4.50)
Self-service library (4.43)
As a whole, Savonia Library services function well (4.33).
