EU students, who have the European Health Insurance Card, are entitled to same benefits as Finnish citizens. An additional medical and accident insurance is strongly recommended. Non – EU students, as well as EU students not in possession of the above card, must obtain private medical insurance for in-hospital and outpatient medical treatment in Finland.

You can obtain the medical and accident insurance from your home country or from an international insurance company.

Kuopio municipal student health care provides health care services for students enrolled in Kuopio’s universities of applied sciences. The aim is to promote the students’ health and welfare and to enhance their ability to study and to work in the future.
