Savonia and Russian International Olympic University signed Memorandum of Cooperation

Savonia  and RIOU signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Kuopio, Finland at 24th October. The agreement was signed by the President of Savonia  Mervi Vidgrén and the Vice-Rector of RIOU Irina M. Badayan.

The memorandum  will develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education and training. Memorandum includes possibilities for  exchanges of  staff,   students  and specialists in order to get experiences and information between Savonia and RIOU. The Memorandum includes also  possibilities to participate in seminars , conferences and projects between Savonia or RIOU. 

Savonia and RIOU are both know of their practical way of   training professionals  and they both have a large network with other universities and organizations. Savonia is one of the largest and most multidisciplinary universities of applied sciences in Finland. 

RIOU is the first university in the world dedicated to sport business education including management , diplomacy and administration and mass communication. The Russian International Olympic University provides professionals with effective  management skills of the sports industry. 

The Memorandum will be effective till 31st December 2015.

About RIOU:

The Autonomous non-commercial organization “Russian International Olympic University” is the first Olympic university that operates under the auspices of the IOC. The university was founded on 21 October 2009 under the memorandum of understanding between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee, and the Russian Olympic Committee, by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 774. The co-founders of RIOU are the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee and the Interros company.

The Russian International Olympic University is a unique institution of additional professional education offering educational programmes that draw on Olympic knowledge. Expertise gained through the staging of such high profile events as the Olympic Games gives a clear understanding of the algorithms of up-to-date management practices in the sports industry.
