Savonia and ProAgria Pohjois-Savo to intensify their cooperation

Savonia University of Applied Sciences and ProAgria Pohjois-Savo signed a cooperation agreement on Monday 24 June 2013. In future, cooperation and synergies brought by it will be systematically refined.

Closer cooperation between Savonia and ProAgria Pohjois-Savo will widen and deepen the expertise called for in the changing production circumstances of the countryside and the farm enterprises. At the same time, added value will be provided to the operations of both partners, and new, innovative development activities serving the needs of industry and commerce will be offered on regional, national and international levels.

Cooperation will particularly focus on milk and beef production. From the regional perspective, the significant aim is to develop milk production and ensure the volume of processed milk in North Savo, as well as to further develop beef production and the production chain.

Common topics to be developed include the new financial and productional operating models of farm enterprises, cooperation between enterprises, management of farm enterprises, cost efficiency of production processes, the use of labour, and the management and levels of workload, particularly in milk and beef production.
