The "Recognized for Excellence" recognition awarded to Savonia came in the public sector and non-profitable organizations category. Central in the receiving of the recognition is to find exemplary organizations. The European Quality Award Model (EFQM) was used as an indicator of the competition. An external evaluation team made their evaluation of Savonia based on a written description and evaluation visits.
The competition and external evaluation measures the ability to bring about results
According to President Veli-Matti Tolppi the recognition received is an award for the target-oriented, open-minded and long-term development work, which has been made with the efforts of the entire staff in Savonia. One year ago a corresponding recognition came to the Health Care unit of Savonia.
A recognition evaluated by European standards, granted to the same institute of higher education two years in a row is significant. The achievement is an indication of Savonia´s faith in keeping up their quality to do work. At the same time this is part of the investment connected to internationalization.
