MultiPro is an International Study Module for Future Professionals from Jan 15 to Apr 14 in 2018. Deadline for the applications is 30th of Sept 2017.
MultiPro is an international three-months study module implemented at Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Iisalmi. You can select studies from three different degree programmes. The curriculum (pdf) is divided into core and specialised studies. The core studies are for the whole MultiPro student group and they support your special studies, which you can select according to your interest and study field: Social Services, Health Care, and Agriculture and Rural Industries.
Teaching methods include lectures, teamwork, eLearning and project studies. The students present the results of their learning outcomes in the MultiPro final seminar and also in a portfolio or a blog. An eLearning platform Moodle is used in teaching and communication.
Practical assistance including tutoring, guidance counseling as well as the free-of-charge and extended hours availability of computer facilities are provided for students to ease the transition into study life.
There are about 1 000 students and nearly 65 staff members in the Iisalmi campus. The expertise of teaching lies on strong knowledge of the educational field connected to practice. For several years Problem Based Learning (PBL) and various eLearning methods have been practiced in Iisalmi. This module is a result of the development work and emphasis on international studies in Iisalmi.

Innovative Solutions in International Education publication is an overview of 10 years of experiences from MultiPro, international multiprofessional studies. The content of the publication has three aspects. First there are teachers’ descriptions of pedagogical solutions in international studies. The second viewpoint is students’. At the end there are lovely stories of meetings with host families, with friend mamas and papas. This cooperation will continue and new innovative educational solutions will be developed in future, for instance in the form of education export.
