Eligibility to apply for higher education studies can be obtained with:
The qualification must be completed by the end of the application period. This doesn’t apply to those who are graduating during the spring/summer of the application period.
In order to prove his / her eligibility to apply, an applicant must submit copies of original final certificate and transcript of records used as the basis for application by 30 January 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
If the applicant is graduating during the spring/summer of the application period, he / she must submit a copy of the transcript of records or other document by 30 January 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time. The transcript of records or other document must state that the applicant will complete the degree in spring/summer 2019. If the applicant will be admitted, he / she must submit copy of the final certificate / final diploma by 8 July 2019. If the applicant cannot submit the final certificate / final diploma, he / she must submit other document by 8 July 2019 proving that he / she has completed the degree. The document must also prove when he / she will receive the final certificate.
If the language of the certificate is other than Finnish, Swedish or English, an official translation must also be submitted. The translation must be signed and stamped by the authorized translator.
The admission is conditional until Savonia UAS has checked the applicant’s original final degree certificate / diploma or other documents (and translations if needed) in September when studies begin. If an applicant fails to submit the required document by the set date he / she will lose the study place in Savonia UAS.
Applicants with a refugee status / an asylum seeker
If an applicant is a refugee, in a position comparable to a refugee or an asylum seeker in Finland and is unable to submit documentary evidence of his / her qualification, he / she can still apply to Savonia UAS. The applicant must have an official decision attesting to his / her refugee status, e.g. a decision to grant asylum or a residence permit issued on the basis of a need for protection. An asylum seeker to whom a decision has not yet been issued must have a certificate issued by the Finnish Immigration Service stating that the applicant is legally resident in Finland while their case is being processed, or until a legally valid decision has been made.
In addition to filling in the online application form during the application period at www.studyinfo.fi an applicant with a refugee status / an asylum seeker must upload to the application form a copy of the decision / certificate by 30 January 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.

Those applying to study in the field of Health Care and Social Services must have a sufficient good health status and functional capacity to be capable of completing practical assignments and work placement periods as part of the studies. Information about health requirements in this field is available on UAS websites and on the Studyinfo.fi service.

Applicants are required to provide information concerning their health status and functional capacity as required to assess admission at the request of the university of applied sciences concerned, as well as information on any possible prior decision on cancellation of their study entitlement.
Students are required to produce an extract from criminal records at the request of the university of applied sciences if working with minors forms an essential part of the tasks assigned to them during their studies or work placement periods that are part of their studies.
Universities of applied sciences are entitled to require a student to produce a certificate of a drugs test if there is any reason to suspect that the student is under the influence of drugs during practical assignments or during a work placement that is part of their studies, or that the student is addicted to drugs.
